LINCOLN
- In 1910, William S. Crocker, C.E., became the successor to Aspinwall & Lincoln, which had offered surveying and civil
engineering services in the Greater Boston area since 1877. In
1954, the firm became associated with New England Survey Service,
Inc. In 1983, this firm too was acquired by and became a division
of Gunther Engineering, Inc., thus making it the oldest continuously
maintained private surveying firm in Boston with survey records and
plans dating back to J.F. HENNESSY CO. - In 1922, John F. Hennessy, PE, RLS, a civil engineering graduate of MIT 1922, started his private practice in Brookline, MA. He built upon a landscape contracting business started by his family, in 1899, and in cooperation with Boston's renowned architect Law Olmstead. Upon his retirement in 1984, the civil engineering-land surveying office became a division of Gunther Engineering, Inc. |
